I combine coco coir, sphagnum moss, and orchid bark to nail the balance between drainage and moisture retention that diverse plant communities demand. I add worm castings and organic microbial food to jump-start a self-sustaining nutrient cycle, then include sterilized leaf litter to awaken the beneficial microbes your bioactive setup requires.

For potting I add perlite to ensure water moves freely through the medium, preventing the anaerobic conditions that suffocate roots.
